Nikita Vincent
her story

Sundays meant community.

Raised by her grandmother, a business teacher, Nikita grew up in Tigard and Tualatin, where Sundays meant getting out of church and being with community. The Collective is how she's bringing that feeling to the Mid-Willamette Valley: a Sunday market where Black, Indigenous, and people of color can gather, sell, and grow together.

She owns and operates Twig & Bloom Flower Farm, a small flower and fruit farm in West Salem.

As a small farmer, she knows how hard it is to find land and a place to sell. After a pilot of pop-ups with seven vendors, the Collective went full season in Monmouth, and Nikita started the Mid-Willamette Valley BIPOC Farmers Co-op. She and her team conducted the feasibility study for the BIPOC-led co-op grocery store in Monmouth.

…there was really good opportunity to get people of color in the area… all come together in a community on a Sunday.Nikita Vincent, to the Polk County Itemizer-Observer
